Since 2010, from the very moment the company was founded, we have considered that floating wind is the future of offshore wind. An obvious potential , but a sizeable challenge.
BW Ideol is a pioneer and market leader in floating offshore wind, active since 2010, with extensive experience in the design, execution, and development of floating wind projects. Our solutions are based on Ideol S.A.’s patented floating offshore wind technology (Damping Pool®) and strong engineering capabilities. The company is positioned as a floating foundation supplier and a co-developer. BW Ideol operates two floating wind turbines in France and Japan, has a 30 MW project under installation in the Mediterranean (Eolmed), and holds a substantial project pipeline, including 1 GW under development in Scotland (Buchan Offshore Wind project) and 270 MW under development in the Mediterranean (MGL). BW Ideol also leverages BW Offshore’s extensive experience in the development and operation of offshore energy production systems.

Launch of the BATSO Project to Optimize Heavy Maintenance of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines
Funded with €2.9 million by ADEME as part of France 2030 (a French State Investment Plan) and in response to the DEMO Tase call for projects, the BATSO project aims to define and validate tools and methods for the replacement of major components in offshore wind turbines. These methods are intended to be less costly and more environmentally sustainable.
